Dr. Laurie LeBlanc grew up on a cattle and rice farm in southwest Louisiana. During her college years at Louisiana State University and her time at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, she fell in love with West Baton Rouge. Since then, she has been a West Baton Rouge parish resident for 25 years.
Dr. LeBlanc worked in many small animal practice settings ranging from general veterinary practice to emergency medicine and veterinary relief practice before opening Rivertown Animal Hospital in the summer of 2006. Dr. LeBlanc and her husband, Cale, are proud parents of two daughters. They have a multi-pet household, including dogs, hospital rescue cats, and tropical fish. She loves to garden, bake, and hike when she has the opportunity.
Dr. Erin Carter was born and raised in Gonzales, LA. In 2017 she received her degree from Louisiana State University in Animal Dairy and Poultry Science. She then went onto LSU School of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 2022. Dr. Carter began working at Rivertown Animal Hospital in January 2023 where her main focus is your pet's health and happiness.
Dr. Carter married her high school sweetheart in 2020 in Yosemite, CA. They reside in Baton Rouge, LA with their two dogs Winslow and Basil.
She enjoys her free time hanging out outside, trying new eateries and boating on the river with her family in the summertime.
Soraya is one of our most experienced technicians and has been with Rivertown Animal Hospital since it’s opening in 2006. Soraya has earned multiple degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Masters of Business Administration. Soraya is now working full-time as an elementary school teacher, and we are thrilled she still continues her relationship with us as a part-time employee. Our patients surely love this arrangement too, as she has been known to throw a little extra love and treats their way. Her specialty is making our patients comfortable and relaxed and helping clients understand how to care for their pet through an illness and/or recovery from surgery. Soraya resides in Plaquemine with her husband Jonathan and their very loved dogs. Outside of the clinic, Soraya enjoys baking and spending time at home with her husband and twin nephews.
As a senior technician, Stephanie works closely with the doctors during surgical procedures and excels at patient nursing care. She has been a part of Rivertown since August of 2006. Stephanie loves to watch patients grow from puppy and kitten hood to adults and senior patients. She works diligently to expand her knowledge working alongside both Drs. Leblanc and Schroeder. She is part of our Leadership team and is our inventory manager. She appreciates the connections she has made with our clients and their pets, along with former and current employees.
Stephanie has also worked in the large animal field at LSU with horses, cows, sheep, and goats. She is a graduate of Brusly High School. Stephanie and her family reside in Brusly. She has two dogs Jep, a 3 year old goldendoodle and Fletcher, a 10 year old mix breed.
Caroline was born and raised in White Castle, Louisiana. She joined our Rivertown family in August of 2018. You will normally see her working in in-room appointments, drop offs, and at the reception desk. Caroline enjoys working alongside our sick and healthy patients, ensuring that everyone has a comfortable stay. She loves the family atmosphere and the learning opportunities that Rivertown has to offer. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in the spring of 2021 with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child Life.
She now works full time with elementary children and still enjoys helping us part-time a few days a week. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and fur babies, reading, and being on the lake. Caroline has two dogs and a cat she rescued as a kitten from Rivertown.
Maddie joined the Rivertown team in the fall of 2021 and quickly moved up to technician through her dedication and willingness to learn. You will most likely see Maddie during an in-room appointment or when you’re picking up your pet.
Maddie is currently pursuing a degree at Franciscan University but enjoys the opportunity to work with animals and aid in their recovery no matter their condition. Maddie has four dogs named Coco, Scout, Tucker, and Otis, a cat named Nala, along with some pet birds. She is a great addition to our caring team. In her free time, she enjoys sewing and boat rides.
Sydney started working at Rivertown in April of 2020 as a kennel technician and now works as a technician assistant who helps with getting patient samples and preparing the surgery suite for procedures. You may also see her working with your pets for their annual or semi-annual vaccination appointments.
Sydney is currently pursuing a degree at Louisiana State University for film and television. In her free time, she enjoys reading and travelling. She is a huge marvel fan too. Sydney adopted her dog Ruben from Rivertown and he enjoys playing with their family pets including dogs and cats.
Madison has had passion for pet care for many years. Working as a technician, you will normally see her working in room appointments and drop offs. She enjoys caring for sick and healthy patients and loves making a long time bond with patients and clients. She was born and raised in Baton Rouge until recently moving to Clinton, LA where her and her husband run a full cattle operation.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking, working in her yard, and chasing after her fur babies. Madison has one daughter named Annie Kate. Together they have three dogs and a fluffy cat named Knox.
